In fact, a smaller diameter brush in general will give you more control than the larger attachments, especially when styling shorter layers.

The great thing about the 5in1 Hot Air Brush is that the different attachments can make it suitable for a wide range of hair types and lengths, but I completely understand that the larger barrels are more comfortable for medium to long hair.
